1 / 21The Swiben BSC-1000IIA2 is a Class II Type A2 biological safety cabinet designed for microbiology and cell-culture work where both product and operator protection are required. It uses a vertical laminar airflow pattern with negative pressure and an air-curtain barrier to limit cross contamination between the work area and the surrounding room.
The airflow system recirculates 70% of the air and exhausts 30%, so no external ducting is required for basic operation. HEPA filtration of borosilicate glass fiber media maintains ISO Class 5 (Class 100) cleanliness inside the chamber.
The interior work zone is built from 304 stainless steel with seamless, rounded corners for thorough disinfection. The cabinet is controlled from an LCD panel and includes a UV lamp interlocked to operate only when the front sash is closed.
Room air is drawn through the front grille and HEPA-filtered before passing down through the work area as a vertical laminar stream. A portion of the air is exhausted through a HEPA filter while the remainder is recirculated, and the negative-pressure design plus front air curtain reduce the escape of contaminants. The movable front glass sash can be positioned at different heights and fully closed for sterilization.
