Jacketed glass reactors are temperature-controlled vessels for synthesis, mixing, crystallization, distillation, and extraction, including winterization and post-processing of cannabis extracts. The transparent borosilicate body lets you watch the reaction directly, while the surrounding jacket circulates heat-transfer fluid from a chiller or heater so you hold a precise internal temperature throughout the batch.
Layer count describes the jacket. A single-layer reactor has one jacket for heating or cooling; a double-layer adds an outer vacuum or insulating jacket so the unit holds temperature better and reaches lower setpoints with less loss; a triple-layer extends that insulation further for demanding low-temperature work. GG17 (high-borosilicate) glass gives the chemical resistance and thermal-shock tolerance these processes require.
Capacities run from 1L bench units up to 100L production-scale vessels, so size to your batch volume plus the headspace agitation and reflux need. Beyond the reactor itself, plan the full system: a recirculating chiller or heater matched to the jacket, a vacuum pump, and a condenser or cold trap. Confirm the working temperature range and ensure your fluid and circulator can actually reach your target setpoints.
