1 / 9The MTST MCR-3SX is a benchtop microwave chemical reactor that uses 2450 MHz (±50 Hz) microwave energy to heat reaction materials directly. It operates in continuous-wave output mode, with input power rated at ≤1350 W and microwave output of ≤900 W on an AC 220V/60Hz supply.
The stainless steel unit holds an internal chamber of 352 × 325 × 202 mm and supports an open reaction system, allowing standard-port flasks (100–500 mL) along with condensing reflux, dripping, and gas-protection accessories. Temperature is set across a 0.0–250.0°C range with control precision of ≤1°C, managed through a button interface with up to 30 programmable sections.
It is intended for laboratory chemists and process developers who need microwave-assisted heating with direct in-reaction temperature feedback and adjustable stirring.
Microwave energy at 2450 MHz couples directly into the reaction material, generating heat within the medium rather than relying on external conduction. A microcomputer PID control loop adjusts output power to hold the setpoint as ambient conditions, material volume, or heat capacity change. A Teflon-coated temperature sensor inserts directly into the reaction system to read material temperature, while a door safety interlock halts microwave output whenever the chamber is opened.
