1 / 12The MTST WBFY-201 is a horizontal laboratory microwave reactor built with an SS304 chamber. It uses microwave radiation generated by a magnetron to drive chemical reactions, providing an alternative to conventional conductive heating.
The unit operates at a frequency of 2450 ±50 MHz with a rated power consumption of 1.1 kW on a 220 V single-phase supply. Its internal chamber measures 290 × 295 × 190 mm, with overall dimensions of 480 × 340 × 280 mm.
Microcomputer control allows operators to set defined power levels and run times, supporting consistent and repeatable reaction conditions across experiments. The design accommodates a reflux apparatus through the waveguide opening.
A magnetron converts electrical energy into microwaves at 2450 MHz. These microwaves are absorbed by polar media and metal powders while passing through non-polar materials such as glass, ceramic, and PTFE, and are reflected by metal surfaces. Media with a suitable dielectric constant vibrate rapidly in the microwave field, accumulating energy and producing heating effects. Output power is regulated by adjusting the on/off duty cycle of the magnetron, with multiple selectable power levels for reproducible conditions.
