The unit uses mechanical, air-cooled refrigeration, so it runs as a self-contained closed loop without a connection to a building water supply. A digital display and microprocessor controller allow the operator to set and monitor the circulating fluid temperature.

The chiller cools fluid in its 50L reservoir using an air-cooled mechanical refrigeration circuit, then circulates that fluid to the connected equipment and back at up to 25 L/min, with a pump lift of about 7 m. A microprocessor controller maintains the setpoint within roughly ±2°C across the -30°C to ambient range.
