1 / 16The Swiben DFY-5/80 is a low-temperature constant-temperature bath designed to hold a stainless steel reservoir at a set point across a wide range. It combines a refrigeration circuit with a heating element so the bath can both cool and warm the working fluid, and can serve as a cold source for connected equipment in place of dry ice or liquid nitrogen.
The 5L tank uses magnetic stirring at the bottom to keep the bath fluid moving, which promotes a more uniform temperature throughout the reservoir. Wetted parts are stainless steel for resistance to corrosion and low-temperature fluids.
It is intended for research and processing labs in chemistry, biology, and related fields that need controlled low-temperature conditions or a circulating cold/hot bath for downstream equipment.
A refrigeration circuit cools the bath fluid while a heating element balances the load to hold the set point, reducing frequent compressor cycling. A microcomputer PID controller regulates temperature, and bottom-mounted magnetic stirring circulates the fluid to even out temperature gradients within the stainless steel tank.
