1 / 8The Swiben HLG-16R is a high-speed refrigerated microcentrifuge built for molecular biology and sample-preparation work. It reaches a maximum speed of 16,200 rpm (up to 25,000×g) and combines refrigerated performance with a compact benchtop footprint of 292×405×226 mm.
The unit accepts a fixed-angle rotor with a maximum capacity of 2 ml × 48, with a standard 24 × 2 ml rotor. Speed is shown on an LCD and is adjustable from 300 to 16,200 rpm in 100 rpm increments. Temperature can be set across a -20 to 40°C range, and timed runs can be programmed from 10 seconds to 99 minutes.
It is suited to laboratories collecting microorganisms, cell debris, cells, larger organelles, and precipitates, and is intended for lawful research use.
The centrifuge spins samples in a fixed-angle rotor driven by a maintenance-free brushless DC motor, generating centrifugal force that separates components by density. A built-in SECOP compressor refrigerates the chamber, with the supplier noting cooling to 4°C within about five minutes. Run parameters such as speed, force, time, and temperature are set on the LCD interface, and an MSM mode supports slow acceleration and deceleration for sensitive samples.
