1 / 13The MTST TD5A is a low-speed benchtop centrifuge built around a swing-bucket rotor design with a maximum capacity of 3000 ml. It reaches speeds up to 5500 r/min and a relative centrifugal force of 5310×g, with speed accuracy of ±20 r/min.
The unit uses microprocessor control through a touch panel with a digital display. Operators can set RCF values directly, store up to 40 user-defined programs, and recall them for repeatable runs. Timing can be set from 0 to 999 minutes or seconds, with both held and transient (momentary) centrifugation modes.
With a steel body and stainless steel centrifuge chamber, the TD5A is suited to laboratories handling serology, blood collection tubes, microplates, and general sample separation across a range of tube formats.
A brushless motor drives a swing-bucket rotor, where the buckets pivot outward under rotation. Adjustable acceleration and deceleration (grades 0 to 9, or by set time) control spin-up and spin-down. Separation occurs as denser sample components move outward under centrifugal force toward the bottom of the tubes.
