1 / 37The MTST HFD-6/2 is a laboratory vacuum freeze dryer (lyophilizer) that removes water from frozen samples through sublimation under vacuum. It is built around a refrigeration system that cools the condenser to ≤-35°C (no load) and a chamber that operates below 15 Pa, allowing sensitive materials to be dried at low temperature.
The unit provides about 0.83 m² of tray area across six discs measuring 320 × 430 mm with 46 mm of spacing between trays. A transparent organic-glass door lets the operator observe the drying process, while programmable shelf heating allows multi-stage drying programs to be defined and monitored through the LCD control system.
It is intended for laboratory and food-processing users who need gentle, low-temperature drying of liquid or solid samples, including biological materials, plant extracts, and food products such as fruit, vegetables, and seafood.
Samples are first frozen on the temperature-controlled shelves below their eutectic point. The included vacuum pump then evacuates the chamber to below 15 Pa, and the condenser, held at low temperature, captures the sublimating water vapor. Programmable heating drives off bound water through successive drying stages. After the program completes, the vent valve is opened to equalize pressure before the chamber is opened and any condenser ice is defrosted using the integrated heater.
