The MTST SD-2000 is a laboratory-scale spray dryer designed to transform liquid feeds directly into micro powder in a single step, without prior filtration, concentration, or grinding. It handles a range of liquid inputs including emulsions and suspensions.
Process components — the drying chamber, cyclone separator, and collection bottles — are made of high borosilicate glass, allowing the operator to observe the process and providing resistance to strong acids, alkalis, and elevated temperatures. The glassware is intended for straightforward assembly, disassembly, and cleaning.
The unit is suited to research, medical, and microbiological laboratories that need to produce dry powder from liquid samples in small batches.
Liquid feed is delivered by a peristaltic pump to a two-fluid atomizing nozzle made of 304 stainless steel, where it is dispersed into fine droplets. Heated air evaporates the moisture as the droplets pass through the glass drying chamber, and the resulting powder is separated and collected in a cyclone separator and receiving bottle. Inlet and outlet temperatures are regulated by PID control, and an automatic de-blocking function helps prevent nozzle clogging.
