1 / 13The Swiben 12N-80A is a benchtop vacuum freeze dryer (lyophilizer) designed for laboratory-scale sample drying. It pairs a low-temperature condenser rated below -80°C with a 0.12 m² drying area and a water capture capacity of 4 kg, and ships with a matched 2XZ-2 rotary vane vacuum pump.
The unit holds four trays measuring 200 mm with 70 mm spacing and a tray capacity of 1.5 L. Operation is managed through a 7-inch touch screen that supports freeze-drying curve recording and a separate sensor for sample temperature logging.
It is intended for labs that need to dry heat-sensitive materials while preserving structure, with rated power of 950 W and 110V/60Hz operation (220V optional).
Freeze drying removes moisture by sublimation. The sample is frozen, then placed under vacuum so that ice transitions directly to vapor without passing through a liquid phase. The low-temperature condenser traps the released water vapor while the vacuum pump maintains pressure below the level required for sublimation, keeping the material in a frozen state throughout drying.
