1 / 13The ZZKD 12N-80A is a benchtop vacuum freeze dryer designed for laboratory lyophilization. It pairs a cold trap rated below -80°C with a 0.12 m² drying area across four 200 mm trays, providing 1.5 L of tray capacity and a stated water capture ability of 4 kg.
The system uses a 7-inch touch-screen interface for setpoint entry and process monitoring, and supports freeze-drying curve recording. An additional sensor set allows sample temperature measurement and data logging. The unit is supplied with a 2XZ-2 rotary vane vacuum pump.

Freeze drying removes water by sublimation. The sample is first frozen, then placed under vacuum where the ice converts directly to vapor without passing through a liquid phase. The water vapor is captured on the low-temperature condenser (cold trap), while the vacuum pump maintains the reduced pressure required for the process. Keeping material frozen throughout drying helps retain the original form and volume.
