It heats round-bottom and similar vessels while stirring the contents, with PID temperature control and a digital display for monitoring set and actual temperature.
The unit covers a temperature range from room temperature to 380°C with stated accuracy of ±1°C, and supports both internal and external temperature probes for measuring at the mantle or directly in the sample. It is intended for laboratory heating and mixing tasks where uniform, mantle-style heating is preferred over a flat hot plate.
With a molded aluminum housing and E-glass fiber insulation rated to 450°C, the device is built for continuous operation of more than 8 hours.
A resistance heating element (Cr20Ni80 wire) surrounds the vessel to deliver heat across a broad contact area, while a magnetic stir bar in the vessel is driven by the unit's motor for mixing. A PID controller with self-tuning regulates power based on feedback from the selected internal or external probe, and an over-temperature protection function limits excessive heating.
