The MTST AHB-1000 is a thermostatic dry metal bath that combines heated aluminum alloy beads with magnetic stirring. The beads serve as a dry heat-conduction medium, providing an alternative to oil baths for warming flasks and other reaction vessels.

The unit is offered in sizes that fit flasks of 500, 1000, and 2000 mL, with corresponding chassis and bath dimensions. A PTFE outer shell helps retain heat at the bath surface. It is intended for laboratory use where controlled, contained heating with stirring is required.

The bead design adapts to vessels of different shapes and sizes, and the beads can be removed, cleaned, or replaced in sections if contaminated.

How It Works

Aluminum alloy beads fill the bath and transfer heat to the immersed vessel, while an integrated magnetic stirrer agitates the contents. The beads do not adhere to the container surface, and an external temperature probe can be used with a compatible hotplate magnetic stirrer for closed-loop temperature control.
