1 / 9The MTST PKH-500 is a high pressure hydrothermal synthesis reactor (autoclave) built around a forged stainless steel body and a removable PTFE liner. It is designed to dissolve and react samples that are difficult to process at ambient conditions by holding material under elevated temperature and pressure.
The configured unit uses a 200ml liner, with working temperatures up to 220°C and a maximum pressure rating of 10MPa (3MPa and 5MPa pressure options are also offered). A quick-opening clamp closure allows the kettle to be assembled and disassembled by hand without bench vices or wrenches.
This reactor suits laboratories performing hydrothermal synthesis, sample digestion, and small-batch high-pressure reactions where chemical resistance and an overpressure safety device are required.
Reaction material is loaded into the PTFE liner (filled to no more than 80% of capacity), which is seated in the stainless steel kettle body and sealed with the cover and clamp. The assembled vessel is heated in an oven at a controlled rate, generating internal pressure as temperature rises. A bursting disc provides overpressure relief, and the kettle is opened only after the contents have cooled below the solvent boiling point.
