1 / 9The MTST MCR-3RT is a laboratory microwave chemical reactor that uses 2450MHz±50Hz microwave energy to heat reaction mixtures directly. It operates in continuous-wave mode at up to 900W output power and supports temperatures from 0°C to 250°C with control precision within ±1°C.
The unit features an open reaction system that accepts standard-neck glassware in the 100–500ml range, allowing condensation reflux, dropwise addition, and liquid replenishment setups. A built-in magnetic stirrer with adjustable speed and a protective-gas inlet support a range of bench chemistry workflows.
It is intended for research labs and processing facilities that need controlled, uniform heating of polar reaction media with real-time data monitoring.
Microwave energy at 2450MHz couples directly into polar substances in the reaction vessel, converting electromagnetic energy to heat within the material rather than by external conduction. A Teflon-coated Pt100 sensor inserted into the reaction system feeds an adaptive PID controller that adjusts output power to hold the set temperature. A door safety interlock stops microwave radiation when opened, and magnetron overheat protection cuts power under abnormal conditions.
