The MTST 2XZ-2 is a two-stage, oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum pump with a direct-connection design. It is intended for laboratory vacuum tasks such as drying, filtration, and pulling vacuum on reaction and sealed vessels.
The pump runs on 110V/60Hz with a 370W motor and a rated rotor speed of 1400 r/min. It reaches an ultimate vacuum of about 6×10⁻² Pa with the gas ballast closed, and roughly 1.33 Pa with the ballast open for solvent vapor removal. Oil capacity is 0.8 L and the inlet diameter is 25 mm.
It suits lab operators who need a compact backing or process pump. The 2XZ series can also serve as a backing pump for booster, diffusion, molecular, or titanium pumps. It is not designed for use as a compression-type delivery pump.
As an oil-sealed rotary displacement pump, rotating vanes sweep gas through two stages in series toward an oil-sealed outlet valve, while the inlet acts as an always-open vacuum safety valve during operation. A gas ballast can be opened to pass solvent vapor and reduce condensation in the pump oil.
