The MTST 2XZ-2 is a two-stage, oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum pump built in a direct-connection configuration. It produces vacuum for processes such as vacuum drying, filtration, and container evacuation, and can serve as a backing pump for booster, diffusion, molecular, or titanium pumps.
The compact housing measures 488 x 145 x 280 mm, and the unit is rated for relatively low noise at 60 dB. A gas ballast feature supports removal of solvent vapor during operation. The pump is intended as a vacuum source and is not designed to function as a compression delivery pump.

A rotary vane vacuum pump uses an eccentrically mounted rotor fitted with vanes that move radially under centrifugal and spring force inside the pump housing.
