The MTST SPD-5L is a complete 5-liter short path distillation system built around high borosilicate glassware. The package combines the core glass components with a digital heating mantle, a rotary vane vacuum pump, and a refrigerated recirculating chiller, allowing distillation under vacuum with controlled heating and condensation.

Distillation separates the components of a liquid mixture by selective evaporation and condensation, exploiting differences in volatility. This kit is intended for laboratory-scale separation and concentration work.

The set is suited to processing labs and research environments that need a ready-to-assemble distillation platform with the supporting heating, vacuum, and cooling equipment included.

How It Works

The mixture is heated in the 5000 ml two-neck boiling flask by the digital heating mantle. Vapor passes through the short path distillation head, where the vacuum pump lowers system pressure to reduce boiling temperatures. The refrigerated chiller circulates coolant to condense the vapor, which is collected through the cow receiver into the round-bottom receiving flasks.
