Dual-layer jacketed glass reactor with brushless variable-speed stirring for stirred reactions, reflux, and distillation under normal or vacuum pressure.
This equipment is sold for lawful use only. Buyer is responsible for compliance with all applicable regulations.
The Swiben S-1L is a dual-layer (jacketed) glass reactor built for stirred chemical reactions in a laboratory setting. The closed glass vessel can operate under normal or negative pressure at a set constant temperature, and supports reflux and distillation of the reaction solution.
The reactor uses GG17 high borosilicate glass for chemical and physical resistance, a wide bottle mouth for hand cleaning, and a bottom discharge valve to drain reacted material. PTFE components, including valves and the agitator, provide corrosion resistance across a range of material viscosities.
Mounted on an overall stainless steel frame with brake casters, the unit is intended for research labs needing a compact, floor-standing stirred reaction setup.
The vessel's outer jacket circulates a heat-transfer fluid to hold the reaction at a set constant temperature while a brushless AC induction motor drives the PTFE anchor agitator. A microcomputer controller with digital display sets stirring speed via a knob, and the closed glass body can be run under normal or negative pressure for stirring, reflux, or distillation.
