This bench-top bioreactor pairs a borosilicate glass vessel body with a 316L stainless steel lid and bottom, giving a 1L working configuration for cell culture and microbial cultivation. The accompanying my-Control system handles process regulation from a compact controller measuring 480 × 320 × 665 mm, suitable for benches where space is limited.
The system monitors and regulates pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and foam, using PID intelligent fuzzy control for stable setpoint tracking. A 13.3-inch HD touchscreen provides operation and data review, with internal storage for fermentation batch records and configurable user permission levels.
It is intended for research, teaching, and small-scale process development laboratories that need controlled cultivation in a vessel volume up to a few liters.
The culture is held in the glass vessel and agitated by magnetic or mechanical stirring at 50–100 rpm. Sensors track pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and foam level, while the PID controller adjusts conditions and drives peristaltic pumps to add acids, bases, antifoam, or supplements. An exhaust condenser handles vapor from the headspace, and process data is logged on the controller and can be sent to an external computer.
