This box-type muffle furnace is built for high-temperature laboratory work, with a chamber measuring approximately 100 x 100 x 100 mm and a maximum rating of 1700°C (for periods under two hours). Continuous working temperature is rated at 1600°C, making it suitable for sintering, melting, and material analysis of metals, non-metals, and compound materials.
The chamber uses three layers of ceramic fiber insulation, ranging from a 1800°C inner board down to a 1260°C outer layer, for thermal retention. The body is a double-layer steel casing with dual cooling fans that keep the outer surface below 60°C during operation.
It is intended for university, research institute, and industrial laboratory settings that require precise, repeatable heat treatment cycles.
Heating is provided by MoSi2 elements and managed through a PID controller with SCR phase-angle power control. The programmable controller allows multiple segments for setting heating rate, dwell time, and cooling rate, with auto-tune, over-temperature protection, and broken-thermocouple detection. A B-type thermocouple housed in a high-purity alumina tube provides temperature feedback, and a door interlock cuts power when the furnace door is opened.
