This high-temperature muffle furnace combines the furnace chamber and control system in a single compact unit. The chamber is lined with vacuum-formed high-purity alumina insulation, which has low heat storage and helps retain heat while reducing the overall weight of the furnace.
The furnace is rated to 1700°C and uses MoSi2 (silicon molybdenum) heating elements for rapid, uniform heating. A double-layer, air-cooled steel shell keeps the outer surface temperature close to ambient during operation.
It is intended for use in university, research-institute, and industrial laboratories for sintering, melting, and analyzing metals, non-metals, and other compound materials.
A B-type thermocouple feeds temperature data to a 0.2-level intelligent controller that uses PID phase-angle control to drive the MoSi2 elements. A programmable, multi-segment heating curve lets operators define ramp, hold, jump, and stop steps; once a program is set, heating and cooling proceed automatically. Over-temperature and open-circuit alarms, plus a side-mounted circuit breaker, provide protection during operation.
